...Nominations for "Most Innovative 'Help Me, I'm Homeless' Sign"

Last night, as I came through Harvard Square station, I saw a guy holding this sign:

Ninjas Killed My Family

And, no -- there was no evidence that he would fit a demographic for whom that could be true.

But were they pirate ninjas?

One wonders, really, what demographic carries the characteristic: Likely to be killed by Ninjas. I mean, I understanding the pre-screening for heart attack and cancer and stroke, but Ninja attack? Maybe I should re-consider a career as an actuary. That would be some kind of awesome!

I think the appropriate demographic would be "Japanese and at least 96 years old." I could imagine that ninja were still around in the Meiji period but I doubt they seriously existed in the Taisho.

Wow. Well, if nothing else, it'll get people to stop and ask for details, so as a hook, it's pretty awesome.

this belongs in a story. It's just to weird to leave laying around in real life.

Ninjas are supposed to strike when you least expect them.

My favorite was just outside Fanueil Hall. It read 'Please help, I want to buy a brunette'.

Was he looking for money, or protection?
