Progress on a Number of Fronts

When last we left our heroine, she had the following list:

-- Knitting. Lots and lots of knitting.
-- A post on "Who writes your dialogue?"
-- Figuring out menu for the Shavuot meal we're hosting.
-- Taking the photos that were requested a while back.
-- Figuring out the Happy Monday gifts for the folks due them.
-- Trying to figure out what I'm going to give my d'var Torah on this week.

Plus lots of work stuff.

And so there has been progress. To wit:

-- Work stuff: Good progress made. No longer panicking about next week's deadline.
-- Knitting: Still knitting. Cast on the back of my sweater-of-the-miserable-gauge and have been working on the Complex Scarf of Much Cableness.
-- Shavuot menu: Have figured out dessert, but not much else. Will ponder over next day or so.
-- D'var Torah: Have idea. Will spend 5-10 minutes geeking about Hebrew grammar. So there. :-)

Other stuff still in progress. But at least there's been some movement, so I'm feeling (a bit) less stressed.

are you speaking on Shavuot? Perhaps I'll stay awake and come listen to you give a class. I haven't even thought of shavuot except "oh, Shavuot is coming." Guess I better get on that. I made your delish green beans this shabbat (minus the vinegar. It tastes funny to me lately). Richie wants me to make them every week from now on :) Thanks for sharing!!

I'm actually speaking on Shabbat, at Seudah Shlishit. Dan got me *months* ago, and then the date kept changing, so it's now this week, and until last night I had no clue what I was going to talk about. And now, at least, I have something of a clue.

I'm glad Richie likes the green beans. I got the recipe from [profile] beckyfeld years ago, and everyone I've shared it with has loved it.

You have dessert. Why bother with anything else? :)

There is that, yes. :-)

Misread your title as "Progress on a Number of Fonts"

*sigh*

Yes, my Verdana is in beautiful shape, and my Comic Sans is nowhere to be seen. Sounds like progress to me. :-)

Dessert is the most important part of the meal anyway. :D

And I love that you're going to geek about grammar. Hee!

[identity profile] gnomi.livejournal.com 2008-06-04 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Geeking about grammar is one of those things that I can do with confidence and that I think the people listening will find interesting.

And, yes. Dessert is vital. I had a T-shirt when I was in high school that said "Life's uncertain. Eat dessert first."

YAY for progress!

[identity profile] gnomi.livejournal.com 2008-06-04 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you. It feels good to know I've made progress on the various things weighing on my head.

ooh, grammar

Care to share here (afterwards)?

I shall, if I say anything coherent.

Speaking of knitting, a friend of mine just posted this link:

I don't believe you wear t-shirts, but I thought you'd be amused nonetheless.

[identity profile] gnomi.livejournal.com 2008-06-05 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee! That's just wonderful!

And I do wear T-shirts, but these days only rarely (since I don't wear them to the office) (or to synagogue).

I couldn't recall seeing you in one, but my memory isn't the greatest on details like that.

You usually see me at conventions (where I'm wearing my professional-editor costume or my wife-of-writer costume) or after work. Were you to see me on a random Sunday, there's a better chance you'd see the T-shirts.
