Getting from Point A to Point B

So, we're traveling to Maryland in the very near future for a bar mitzvah. [personal profile] mabfan, Muffin, Squeaker, [profile] lcmlc, Abba, and I are taking a train down to Maryland that leaves Boston at a relatively early hour. Transporting all of us and our luggage is the challenge I am now facing. The current plan is that I will take Muffin and Squeaker in their stroller on the T to South Station while [personal profile] mabfan takes the luggage in a cab. But I'm very worried about the T having issues and us therefore missing the train (this would be a Very Very Bad Thing).

So I have a question: does anyone in the Boston area know of a cab company/car service that can provide car seats for a short trip? Taking Muffin and Squeaker's car seats to Maryland is a non-starter, since they cannot use them on the train and we are not planning many car trips while in Maryland (and for those that we are planning, I am told that car seats will be provided by MD locals). The T-and-cab plan is still the plan of record, but I am exploring options.

Have you called Red Cab or Bay State to see what they say?

Also, maybe we can put out a call to our friends to see if anyone would be willing to drive us there the morning we leave, and maybe even pick us up the night we return?

I called Bay State and Metro Cab. Neither of them offer car seats. I'll try Red Cab later.

Does South Station have lockers? Could we leave the car seats there over the time we're away?

I would not count on car seats fitting in standard locker. As noted, we are arranging for car seats here. And I need to talk to you both about the babysitting for Friday night.

We should be around this evening if you want to call.

And I've got the beginnings of a list of stuff that I'd appreciate being picked up down in MD so we don't have to schlep it down from Boston, if that would be possible.

Should not be a problem.

South Station does not have lockers, and there does not seem to be long-term storage via Amtrak, but I will continue to look.

I'm sure you'll be running around the whole time you're here, but let me know if you want to grab a bite at Max's or something. Or if you need a babysitter. :)

How early? The Tigerbright-Friends Cab Service might be available. :)

(Seriously! I wake up around 6:30AM on weekends, and leave the house at 7:15AM on weekdays and drop the roommate off at BU around 7:45AM. As long as I don't miss boychik's 8:25 camp bus, it's all good.)

The girls are in front-facing 5-pointers, right? I'm going to have to figure out where my LATCH anchors are...we should plan for some climbing-around-and-latching time in that pickup time!
