Here are 2 job opportunities (with Young Judaea) I've recently been made aware of. I have no clue if anyone reading here would be at all interested, but I figured I'd put 'em out there for public consumption.

a. District Manager/Camp Director (Portland, Oregon)

Responsibilities include overall management, development and supervision
of Young Judaea's Year-Round activities on the West coast. Candidate
will also serve as the Director of Camp Young Judaea West, a 3 week
resident camp program. This is a multi-faceted management position.
Camping & supervisory experience preferred.

b. Full-time Area Supervisors -- New York/New England (based out of
Boston or New York), Houston, TX, Portland, OR, Atlanta GA

Responsibilities include developing Young Judaea clubs, building
membership, organizing conventions and events, recruiting for camps and
Israel programs, and building relationships with kids, parents, Hadassah
and other Jewish community organizations.

If you are interested in any of these positions please send your resume
to Dan Cardonick, Director of Regional Programs at
dcardonick@youngjudaea.org or fax 212-303-4572. For questions call
212-303-4597.

Elaine and I moved back to Chicago when she took the job as Midwest Regional Director for Young Judaea (the Area Supervisor job listed above). Our niece attends the Portland camp.

[profile] beckyfeld (my sister) and I were Young Judaea members all through high school (actually, I was briefly an Ofi-Tzofi, but then the group died), and she and I both went to Israel with Year Course (she '85-86, me 89-90). I'm a strong supporter of YJ.

Elaine was Year Course 85-86, Section 2.

I don't recall if Becky was Section 1 or Section 2. She did J'lem first (at Riklis), then moshav (I think) (at K'far Pines), and then kibbutz (at...uh...some dati moshav shitufi the name of which is completely escaping me).

It would not surprise me if they knew each other, especially if Elaine ever went to TY (Tel Yehuda).

That would have been section 1.

By the time I went, they'd reorganized the schedule and renamed them -- I went on what they called Kevutzah Aleph, which was J'lem in the beginning, then moshav, then kibbutz, and then a volunteer period during which I worked at the Blind Students' Unit at Hebrew U.
