#27: Full Speed by Janet Evanovich and Charlotte Hughes
#28: Full Blast by Janet Evanovich and Charlotte Hughes - Two light, fluffy mystery/romances by Evanovich (known for her Stephanie Plum mysteries) and Hughes. Good summer beach reading; nice break from the big pile of non-fiction I've been reading.
#29: The Bourbon Kings of France by Desmond Stewart: As the title suggests, a history of the Bourbon dynasty of French kings, from Henri IV (1589-1610) through Henri V (1830-1883).
#30: A Short History of Boston by Robert J. Allison: A history of Boston from the earliest settlements through the present day, tracing the changes - both cultural and geographical - of Boston, MA.
#31: Founder: A Portrait of the First Rothschild and His Time by Amos Elon: A biography of Mayer Rothschild, from his beginnings in the ghetto of Frankfurt to his rise as financier to royalty.
#32: The Destruction of Ancient Rome by Rodolfo Lanciani: This book, written in 1899, catalogues the various groups that caused the destruction of the artifacts of Ancient Rome. More destruction was caused by everyday citizens than was caused by the Sack of Rome by the Goths in 410. And Prof. Lanciani was one of the people cataloguing the archeological finds as Rome was modernized in the 1870s and onward. Fascinating look at Rome over the centuries.
#33: The Birth of France: Warriors, Bishops, and Long-Haired Kings by Katharine Scherman: History of French royalty from the Romans through the end of the Merovingian dynasty. Again, fascinating look at how France evolved over the centuries.
