-- Back, as I mentioned. It's been quite a busy couple of weeks. It's actually a comfort to be in the office and know I'll be here for the rest of the week.

-- The last 2 days of Pesach were lovely. We had lovely meals with lovely folks and got to meet new people unexpectedly when our original hosts for one of the meals took sick. I'm glad everyone in that household is now on the mend. We also had a meal that included as a guest an acquaintance of my father. Small world it is, indeed.

-- Trains are fun. Even 13-hour train trips are fun. Though one of these days I have to learn how to sleep on the train. I got 6 20-minute naps over the 13-hour trip on the way down. One of those naps ended when a group of firefighters in full regalia came bumping through our car (track fire; we were their transportation back from the fire).

-- There is no kosher meat (other than hot dogs, which I cannot eat due to nitrites giving me nasty headaches) to be had in Richmond, VA.

-- RavenCon was wonderful. Ran amazingly smoothly for a first-year con. Heck, it ran amazingly smoothly for a veteran con. Kudos to all those involved in running it.

-- [personal profile] mabfan and I brought our laptops and watched DVDs on the train. Over the course of two train trips, we watched 13 episodes of season 1 of Stargate: SG-1.

-- There's very little as lovely as coming home and knowing you're home for a while. Yay for sleeping in one's own bed.

-- The Brookline Post Office folks are lovely and don't look at me askance when I come barreling in the door 1.5 minutes before they close to pick up our accumulated mail. They even don't point and laugh when I then have to go back inside two minutes after closing to exchange the package since they handed me the wrong one.

-- I slept like a rock last night, but the combination of many, many SG:1 episodes and then "24" leads, apparently, to dreaming about Jack Bauer trying to chase down and kill Apophis with the help of the SG:1 team. My brain is a scary place sometimes.
