Speaking of brainfried -- "Oh, the huge manitee" -- I just didn't get it, ALL day. Then, I'm lying in bed and think -- Oh, the huge manitee! So funny!!

Orange should not be possessed. It's a color second only to banana yellow in my pantheon of dislike.

Beloved Joe foolishly sent me this link http://www.buttonshoppe.com/ as I quested for a replacement button.

I note that we're all thread enablers. :)

OK, who else said you have red thread at home, and how would they know?

It's obvious that Nomi has red thread at home, for red thread is something Nomi would have.

The question then becomes would Nomi be able to locate said red thread in a timely fashion, or is it simply more efficient to buy more? Obviously, buying more is the option of choice.

I say this, because Nomi and I are twins separated at birth, and I know I have red thread at home and I also know I have less than no chance of locating it in a timely fashion. Ergo, the same must be true for Nomi.

Also, one can never have too much red thread.

Unless one is on Pern.

If Nomi didn't have red thread at home, she'd simply stop at the thread store and buy some, and not bother with a poll.

Therefore, she does have red thread, or believes she has red thread, but still wishes to go to the store. Realizing this is silly, she makes a poll so that she can go to the store to buy thread she probably doesn't need.

We, her friends, know this, and want to make her happy. Also, we recognize this need in ourselves.

Because you're JEWISH. EVERYONE knows that Jews have kabbalistic red thread! Maddona said so! And someone named after Jesus's mother would HAVE to know.

What kind of spirit would want to possess orange? or any other color?

Um, Iris? wait, that's a goddess.

Well, a dark spirit is the absence of color so perhaps they crave it?

And orange is evil. Evil. As pointed out above Halloween! QED!!!

I'm taking the poll a day late, so surely Nomi must have red thread by now.
