-- People bringing us food was wonderful, but at the same time there is something very nice about getting back to doing my own menu planning and cooking.

This is why I think post-baby meals should be scheduled for 3x/wk for the first week, and then 1x/wk for the following month (or however long people want to bring them). Plus maybe Shabbat supplementation. Good balance of doing your own planning vs. bonus nights off.
