MAB and I now have our new machines, and we're back on-line. We're now digging through a whole backlog of e-mail, though, so if you've sent either of us mail and haven't heard back, please be patient; we're digging as fast as we can. :-)

So what are you guys going to name them?

My Cube is called Klee (he went through a grid period), my iBook is named Rothko (field paintings... and the iBook is all white), and my iPod is named Arp (white fitures too, I think, and the name is really small, like my iPod).

At the moment, they're named "gnomi's iBook" and "mabfan's iBook," mostly so the computer store guy could keep track of which one needed what loaded onto it. So for now, that's what they'll be, I think. My last machine took a while to tell me its name, and it had the generic "Macintosh HD" moniker for a very long time. I'm hoping this new little guy will tell me his name soon, though.
