Kosher-for-Passover Rambly Bits
Apr. 11th, 2004 12:04 pm-- We've had a good Passover so far - seders at my parents', then back to work on Thurs-Fri for me (MAB's school gives Passover week for vacation), then shabbat. Last two nights of Passover start tonight; I'll be off-line again from tonight until Tuesday night.
-- Today is a run-around-and-get-stuff day. The last time this happened - 7th day Passover eve coinciding with Easter - that I remember was in 1993; it was the day of the Rav's (Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik) funeral, and after the funeral, almost all of the local Jewish community descended upon the Butcherie to purchase last-minute items. I was on a quest for strawberry jam on behalf of a friend who was planning to attend the funeral. And at the time, none of the local mainstream supermarkets were open on Easter (this has since changed), so I joined the madding crowd at the Butcherie. Fun and chaotic all at the same time.
-- "When all you have is a big knife, everything looks like a turkey" - me to my parents, when asked about my glee at carving the aforementioned turkey.
-- To all who are celebrating Easter today, I hope you're having a good holiday; for all who are observing Passover this week, I hope you are all continuing to have a good holiday.
-- Five! Five! Ah-hah-hah-hah-hah! I love to Count the Omer! :-)
