Alas, this is true. But (a) I take long-distance virtual hugs (and return them, as well - *hug* to you) and (b) you might have a local logophile you could hug. You just might be surprised. :-)

Actually, you were spot-on the first time. It occurred to me (after an exchange with the incomparably linguaphilic thamiris) just how many unsung linguaphiles I know, and I figured all linguaphiles deserved hugs. Not that I'd ever turn down hugs offered by friends. But this wasn't specifically designed as hug-seeking behavior.
