I occasionally miss DC. When snow is on the ground for only a few weeks a year, I could wear tevas 11 months out of 12.

lucretia_borgia has been known to wear sandals all through the winter. So among my friends, wearing sandals in January does not make you an anomaly.

I had friends in college who were dedicated to sandal-wearing year-round. That nuts I'm not, but since it's nice not to have overheated feet, if it's warm enough (above freezing, definitely), then sandals.

Hm. I think I need a new pair, actually. I wonder where will have some left?

I thought it was Lucretia Borgia who did the plotting? ;-P

Eastern Mountain Sports had sandals late in the season last year (as I discovered when my sandals broke and they still had some in my size in late August).

I don't think I've worn sandals since early childhood.

Then again, I haven't gone barefoot for any length of time since about age 12 either. (See my response to your meme for why.)

It's that weird in-between weather right now, and it's been overly humid, which is probably what's driving my lack of desire to wear socks.

Every morning this week, I've done the sandals vs. shoes debate. Sandals won all week.

But then I wonder if I want to wear/carry my fleece jacket, and I decide that sandals-and-fleece is just too weird.

Not weird, at least to me. Much easier to take off a layer of clothes to get cooler than to take off socks (once one is out and about, of course).

Nomi, I had /no/ idea your taste in music was so fabulous. Er, is so fabulous. I'm going to see a Decembrists concert the first weekend of October. :) Also, I live in my flipflops until it hits about 50 degrees. Then I succumb to socks and boots, etc. D.C. has been /very/ good for that.

My taste in music is quite eclectic. The radio station I listen to most is WFNX, which is the radio station owned by the Phoenix Media Group, which also publishes Boston's premiere alternative newspaper. And they stream online, which makes them even more fabulous (they're at http://www.wfnx.com/1/home.asp).

I'm also a big fan of folk music and rock music out of the 70s and 80s. And classical music. So, as I said, eclectic. :-)
