One could, theoretically, blame [livejournal.com profile] seborn for this poll.

[Poll #682600]

This poll has been brought to you by the letter L, the dipthong /ou/, and the number 4.

Two mice, two houses, two spice wasn't an option. I'd have selected it if it was.

I'll look and see if the library has it.

Who's the author?

jon scieszka and lane smith. it's a children's book.

a wonderful, WONDERFUL children's book. i read it at a math-teacher-friend's house, and then went out and bought a copy of my own despite my a) not being a math teacher and b) not having any immediate (or even mid/long-term) plans for any children to be in my house.

You have one goody two-shoes. You then acquire a second goody two-shoes. You now have:

Great smut potential. Mmmm.

(This poll had me laughing so hard my coworker stared at me. She must now be convinced I am nuts, if she was at all on the fence a moment ago...)

Sorry I made you freak out your coworker. This poll was kind of destined to be laugh-inducing, given that I laughed like a crazed hyena when [profile] seborn asked the original question about the goodies two-shoes.

I hadn't thought of the "a pair of" without the -es on the end (inasmuch as we say "a pair of shoes" not "a pair of shoe"). Interesting.

Two goodies-two-shoe, because after a certain point ya just gotta go for the silly.
Two mice, two houses, two spice.

Incidentally, the word "two" now looks _completely_ wrong to me, that can't possibly be an English word.

I like the trend of arm(s) reduction.

A squid has 10, half an octopus has 4, what's next?

SALT. Sprinkled liberally over the squid and the octopus.

You have two goodies two-shoes. Two-shoes, in this case, being used as an adjective modifying the noun goody (perhaps male prigs would be goodman two shoes?)

For lo, I am a dork.

I voted for "forearmed," but then I realized...

Forewarned = forearmed. Forearmed = half an octopus. Therefore, forwarned DOES equal half an octopus. QED.

The plural of spouse is clearly spice. I'd never thought of "hice" before, but it makes sense. And don't forget your closet full of lovely blice!
