As predicted...
Aug. 6th, 2002 10:06 pm...another busy day. We started this morning at the New-York Historical Society, where we saw four short September 11-related exhibits and, at the end, got interviewed by the local cable news station about what should be done with the WTC site. After we left the museum, we had a lunch meeting with one of MAB's editors. Following that meeting, we headed back to Queens for MAB to see his dentist, after which we headed back to Manhattan for dinner with friends.
If I had to come up with a therme for today, though, it would be bookstores: we browsed at 3 different Barnes and Nobles during the course of the day. The first was on our way to the New-York Historical Society (that B&N was on Broadway, in the West 80s), the second was between the dentist and dinner, when we went to the one in Forest Hills, and the third was on Fifth Avenue, between 48th and 49th. And it's not like we don't have a B&N within a half-mile of where we live. But we have some sort of magnetic attraction to bookstores (and, yes, we did buy books, but only at the one in Forest Hills, though I made a mental list of books I must buy when we get home).
More tomorrow, perhaps with even more book browsing.
