gnomi: (celebration_fireworks)
Yesterday, [personal profile] mabfan and I went down to Connecticut with [profile] 530nm330hz and [personal profile] introverte to celebrate the wedding of [profile] angwantibo and his Drummer Girl. The bride was radiant, the groom was all smiles, and a freilich wedding was definitely the order of the evening.

The chuppah was held outside. I found out later that this is a Lubavitcher custom. But the fact that it was about 35-40 degrees out at the time of the chuppah meant that we were all bundled up in our coats. And at the end, after [profile] angwantibo stepped on the glass and we all broke into Od Yishama, I couldn't help but sing the refrain as:

Cold sasson
V'cold simcha
Cold chatan
V'cold kallah

Aside from the folks we traveled down with, we were seated with [profile] pressburger. It was lovely to see him and get an opportunity to shmooze with him.

Mazal tov again to [profile] angwantibo and his kallah!

...since a few people responded "What are hamantaschen" in my poll last week:

Hamantaschen are a pastry that are traditional for the holiday of Purim. There are various methods of making them (bread-like dough vs. cookie dough; various fillings), but below the cut is my mother's traditional recipe (and, fear not, I shall strive to remember to post this again closer to Purim (which in 5767 is 4 March 2007)).
