Road Tripping to a Simcha

Yesterday,
mabfan and I went down to Connecticut with
530nm330hz and
introverte to celebrate the wedding of
angwantibo and his Drummer Girl. The bride was radiant, the groom was all smiles, and a freilich wedding was definitely the order of the evening.
The chuppah was held outside. I found out later that this is a Lubavitcher custom. But the fact that it was about 35-40 degrees out at the time of the chuppah meant that we were all bundled up in our coats. And at the end, after
angwantibo stepped on the glass and we all broke into Od Yishama, I couldn't help but sing the refrain as:
Cold sasson
V'cold simcha
Cold chatan
V'cold kallah
Aside from the folks we traveled down with, we were seated with
pressburger. It was lovely to see him and get an opportunity to shmooze with him.
Mazal tov again to
angwantibo and his kallah!

You know, I thought it was quite warm outside, but then again, my heart was pounding and I was surrounded by the warmth of friends and family, as well as a full tux and kittel.
