...why i'm periodically getting weird characters at the end of entries? there doesn't seem to be any logical pattern to whether or not i get them, and sometimes i notice them, delete them, and then they reappear magically.

or it might just be gremlins. it's often the gremlins.

I think it's a browser thing; or rather, that's when I've noticed getting them. Pay attention to what browser/client/whatever you're using when that happens. I had been getting them with an older version of netscape on my old mac, but wasn't getting them with a newer version, or with any of the other graphical browsers on my ibook. Nor do I get them via lynx. Or phoenix.
