Another Snippet from a Conversation

Yet another glimpse into the way my parents and I talk to each other:

Me: I have mush in my brain.

Abba: (singing) Mush in my brain/mush from Havana

Me: Havana? You know, we have a song about a happy, Jewish girl who goes down to Cuba.

Abba: Oh?

Me: Yeah... it's very frequently played at weddings.

Abba: (thinks a moment) Havana Gila?

Yeah... it explains a lot about why I went into Linguistics, though. I grew up knowing that words were things to play with.
