The scene:
gnomi
is doing some spot-cleaning of shirts with
Zout
.
mabfan
: Got a sec?
gnomi
: I'll be right there... I have Zout fingers.
mabfan
: Zout fingers?
gnomi
: Sounds maybe like a family we know from shul, the Zoutfingers?

my first thought was that zout fingers sounded like some kind of sci-fi infection, delivered, perhaps, via vending machine pastry.
Although I may have at some point lived next to a family named zoutfingers...it just sounds like the quintessential neighbor name.

See, my second thought was that Zoutfinger would make a good Bond villian. But you're right -- next-door-neighbors is also a good role for the Zoutfingers.

It sounds like a horried flesh-eating disease; like something my grandmother would whisper the way she whispers "cancer" or "gay". ;-)

Heh. Yeah -- "shhh... we don't talk about it, but Mary contracted zoutfinger in Barcelona."
As I told
cbpotts
, my second thought was that Zoutfinger would be a Bond villian.

Zout being far more precious than gold. At least as far as laundry is concerned. ;-)

It's wonderful. I used it to get out curry stains, tomato stains, dye. All sorts of hard-to-remove stains.
I get the stuff in the purple bottle. I can't speak for the efficacy of the other types.

They all work very well. I use it to get out almost everything except ink and marker.

Exactly! Nice family; always help out when they're asked. And always extremely clean :-)

My mind went straight to the awful Bond theme song of yore. Zouuutfingeaaaz! (The Fam with the golden touch!) Okay, got that out of my system.
