"A king bed"

Although if forced, I'd prefer "size" to "sized", since it is not actually sized to fit a king. Well, maybe Henry VIII.

I prefer king-size for similar reasons, and yet I would refer to a midsized company, or for that matter, a king-sized coke. But somehow when it refers to the type of bed, it's different.
