She finds a way to combine my love of penguins with my love for Doctor Who.

OK, now the longer version: For Chanukah 5768/my birthday 2008, [profile] beckyfeld commissioned Pat Campbell, who makes figurines in Sculpy, to make me penguins dressed like the Doctor (incarnations 1-7 and 9-10) and an appropriately-scaled TARDIS.

My photos came out kind of blurry on the individual ones, but they are here:

But...but...no Eight love?

The artist considers Eight only semi-canonical, so she doesn't tend to do an Eight figurine. I'm hoping to ask her to do one for me, though.

How can she not consider that hotness to be canonical?!?

I squeed about them a lot; in fact, I'm still kinda squeeful. :-)

Those are so cute, and so you! Jonah squees too, and knows more of them than I do. That's amazing detail in them.

I pulled the TARDIS out of the box first and -- because it wouldn't have surprised me -- guessed they might've been salt/pepper shakers. But then [profile] beckyfeld said to keep looking in the box, and I got all squee-ful as I kept pulling out penguin-Doctor hybrids.

Heee! I'm so thrilled with them. They've now got a place of honor all to themselves in an array on top of one of our DVD shelving units.

My sister the enpenguinator strikes again! :-) They're sitting in our living room, on top of one of our DVD shelf units, and every time I look up and see the Doctor pengies, I smile.
