Today is 17 January. Most people are (a) done with Christmas gifts for the year and (b) not yet planning for next Christmas. Not even in this crazy Advertise-Thanksgiving-Even-Before-Labor-Day marketing atmosphere is that anywhere *near* in season.

No, no, no... this is X-Mas! Which, as we all know, has nothing whatsoever to do with Christ or the Nativity. "X" here is a variable, representing some arbitrarily chosen time about two months from "now", for which you need to buy lots of crap you don't want and give it to other people who also don't want it, because otherwise they will think poorly of you.

Spammers are unconnected to reality. They simply hope that if they get their mail into enough mailboxes, no matter what its content, some tiny fraction representing a significant absolute number will respond.

One recent spam said that people laugh at me, as if insulting its readers will get them to buy. It also said I need a "bigger instrument." I think 88 keys is plenty.
