Stop Me Before I Cast On Again!
Mar. 19th, 2008 03:41 pmI have a major confession to make:
I am a new-project addict.
I mean, it's not like I don't already have six active-active projects already on needles (not even counting the on-needles-but-asleep projects) and three others queued (and I gotta say, those three want to be not-queued-but-active). But last night I cast on *another* new project (darn those knitting magazines and their shiny!new!exciting! patterns) and am itching to work on it (rather than, say, doing work-work).
The scarf in my icon is awake again as a project, and I want to work on it, too.
Haaaalp!

Date: 2008-03-19 08:24 pm (UTC)4 sweaters
3 scarves
2 hats
Plus more yarn to make another 8 sweaters, 2 vests, and more scarves and hats. And I'm ordering some yarn from a cool LYS to make another sweater. I'm mad, completely mad.
(hence the name)

Date: 2008-03-19 08:44 pm (UTC)Oh! That's another project I should start -- the one we were discussing before my winter went all pear-shaped. I even know where the needles and yarn are for that project.

Yes, indeed. I didn't want to bug you.

Date: 2008-03-19 09:38 pm (UTC)I just finished a bag thing. I thought I was buying a cotton yarn and instead got a bigass spool of cotton twine, the kind people keep in the garage for just in case moments. It made up a perfect little bag that expands way more than it should and can go in the washing machine if something leaks all over it. It even has little spots of color so if anything stains it, it won't be screamingly obvious.
But I'm not *thrilled* with it.
So what did I do? I stuck those needles back on the spool, and next time I'm docked in front of the TV I'll probably fire up another iteration of the same kind of thing. You've got to use it up, right? I thought about knitting the entire spool up into one giant i-cord, just for the thrill. "But what if I need cotton twine?" "Oh, just pull it out the end of the i-cord."
I always have two going, and sometimes three. The mindless one I do in front of the TV, the one that's in my little travel knitting kit, and the Big One Of The Moment. Sometimes the first and third are the same. :)

That scarf in your icon is really cool.
