Icon meme, from [personal profile] batyatoon:

The Rules:
1. Reply to this post, and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee. Whoo!

The five that [personal profile] batyatoon picked are

I call this one "Penguin Chevruta." A "chevruta" is a group of people who learn Talmud (or some other Jewish religious text), and these baby penguins just looked like they were learning from the adult penguin they're sitting with.

"Ani Ma'amin Sox" is the name I gave this one. The Hebrew phrase is "Ani ma'amin b'emunah shleima," meaning "I believe with true faith." This phrase begins each of Maimonides' Thirteen Principles. Paired with the logo of the Boston Red Sox, it symbolizes my faith in the Sox even when they can't put together three wins in a row no matter how they play.

"Danny - What?" The picture is of Dan Rydell (from "Sports Night"). I'm never sure whether he's saying "What?" as in "What? Of *course* that makes sense!" or "What? Huh?" I use it for posts that fall into either of those categories.

Coherent character development was *not* (and still isn't) a hallmark of the television show "Smallville." I picked up this icon during the (I believe) third season of the show, when the show was making close to no sense in terms of characters' motivations for anything. I use this icon only rarely, usually as a commentary on fiction I'm reading/I've read.

Another "Smallville"-related icon, again (I believe) third season. Lionel Luthor (pictured here) was *so* over the top it was laughable. I used this icon when commenting on the show.
