Friday
-- Got up early, got to train station around 7:30 for 8:20 train, found wireless access in South Station.
-- Took train to NYC, watching "Enchanted" en route
-- Got to Penn Station about 20 minutes late due to track work north of New Rochelle.
-- Lunch with David, friend of [personal profile] mabfan from high school.
-- Emergency pants-related trip to Brooks Brothers
-- Visited [profile] popfiend at his office. Had wonderful, wide-ranging conversation.

[profile] popfiend and me at [profile] popfiend's office (yeah, I have no clue what my facial expression is all about.)

-- Visited [personal profile] dianora2 in *her* office, since she and [profile] popfiend work in the same building.

[personal profile] dianora2 and me in the doorway of her office
(If you are a regular reader of [personal profile] dianora2, the above makes perfect sense. If not, just smile and nod.)

-- Went to our friendly neighborhood haberdasher, discussed possible future business with haberdasher, bought black cotton beret because both hats I had with me in NYC were too warm for the weather (I'd packed for what had been predicted, which turned out to be different from what manifested).
-- Retrieved luggage from Penn Station, went to home of [personal profile] batyatoon and [personal profile] sdelmonte.
-- Had lovely Shabbat dinner (with requisite shmoozing) and then some additional lovely conversation with [personal profile] batyatoon after the menfolk had gone to sleep.

Saturday

-- Woke up while the menfolk were at hashkama minyan, was dressed by the time they came back. Had nice schmooze with them and, subsequently, with them and [personal profile] batyatoon until we had to leave for lunch.
-- Had lovely lunch at the home of [personal profile] batyatoon's parents. Can now change subtitle of LJ to "Singing show tunes with the rabbi." Was allowed to help in the kitchen (since I'd been a guest in their house previously), which pleased me greatly.
-- After lunch, returned to [personal profile] sdelmonte and [personal profile] batyatoon's, where we spent the rest of the day. Joined in afternoon first by [personal profile] chaos_wrangler and G and then by [profile] dragonbear82. Had lots of fun conversation and discussion of topics both weighty and frivolous.
-- Following Havdallah, briefly checked goings-on on Internet, then showed "Enchanted" to [personal profile] batyatoon and [personal profile] sdelmonte while I knit.
-- Did most of my packing, and then went to bed.

Sunday

-- Got up and finished packing while [personal profile] sdelmonte and [personal profile] batyatoon started their Pesach cleaning.
-- Said our goodbyes to our gracious hosts and then headed northward to Riverdale for celebration of half-brother-in-law and half-sister-in-law's recent wedding.
-- Had lovely conversation with girlfriend of brother of old friend of half-brother-in-law and others. Saw elderly aunts-in-law and other relatives-in-law. Met Susan 1 near end of gathering (she approached me having noticed me as the only other woman at the gathering who was covering her hair).
-- At end of party, got ride from EMT friend of h-b-i-l and his wife to New Rochelle train station. Spent a couple of hours in New Rochelle train station. Discovered that New Rochelle train station has WiFi. Watched fourth-season debut of "Doctor Who," then proceeded to platform to wait for train.
-- Train arrived four minutes late, but made up time on trip up. During trip, watched "Torchwood" second-series finale and first two episodes of "Kidnapped" (DVD set of which was birthday present to me from friends). Enjoyed "Kidnapped" a lot; reserving judgment on the Who-niverse shows watched this weekend. Have to digest both.
-- Made up time on way to South Station, arrived a couple minutes ahead of schedule, but still didn't arrive home until after 11:30 PM.
-- Unpacked, dealt with things that had to be dealt with before morning, fell into bed.

So, that's the weekend in a nutshell. Much fun was had, many good friends seen, even more good friends missed.

You packed based on the forecast? Without including options for either side? Some native New Englander you are! Heh.

I'm glad you had a good weekend. If ever your life calms down a bit, I might like to chat with you about how one might procure TW eps 10-12, if you're up for that. But I know it's a hectic time for you, so I'll toddle along now ....

I was trying to keep my packing light. I packed layers and was right on 99% of the packing; it was really only the hats that I wasn't right on (I wore the corduroy one down, since it was cold in MA and scheduled to be so in NYC; the problem wasn't heat, it was humidity).

And we have TW 10-13 if you need 'em. We can probably arrange something. Most likely *after* Pesach, if that's OK.

Sorry for the delay in responding; crazy busy. That would be lovely; after Pesach is perfectly fine. Thank you!

*sigh* I have missed you again. Like the elusive Polkaroo of my childhood, you keep appearing and disappearing out of my orbit.

This was, unfortunately, a quick trip. With luck, the next trip (which is, as yet, unscheduled) will allow us to see more folks.

::hugs::

so is narf it's own category, or just a general statement? Either way, it's brilliant!

Narf is, as has been mentioned here previously, always a correct answer to any question asked in this LJ. Since enough people respond "Narf!" when prompted, I figured I'd give them a perpetual prompt.

(One can tailor one's links for comments in the Customize Style section, and since I was playing in that area with my journal subtitle and all, I figured I'd play with a couple of other things, as well.)
