Thoughts on Last Night's West Wing
May. 15th, 2003 09:55 am-- Molly I get. A fitting memorial. And it goes well with Ziegler. But Huckleberry? That poor kid. Maybe they'll call him by his Hebrew name, whatever it turns out to be. :-)
-- Any Constitutional scholars out there? What happens with the 25th if there's no VP? Is handing the Presidency over to the Speaker of the House at all plausible?
-- Loved seeing the SecAg again - Harry Groener, last seen in "He Shall, From Time To Time"
-- I hope they keep John Goodman around. I thought he was wonderful.
-- I further hope that Charlie doesn't get Mandied (ask me about "Bobbed" if you're confused)
-- Abbey going into the press room made me cringe. I knew why she felt she had to, but at the same time, I was yelling at the screen that she should listen to CJ and Carol.
An excellent episode all around. Still processing large parts of it, but I'm quite pleased.

Date: 2003-05-15 09:33 am (UTC)The official line of succession is VP, Speaker of the House, President Pro Tem of the Senate and then down through the Cabinet, starting from secretary of state. I'm not sure of the order through the cabinet, but I'm guessing it's order of creation of the office, or something. This skips anyone constitutionally ineligible (under 35, not born a citizen, already served two terms).
With Hoynes gone, the speaker is next in line.
And I so love John Goodman, and he was great.
As for the babies with hats - I didn't think Andy was Jewish.

I also liked John Goodman. This could be very interesting...
When I called my house last night my mother was freaking out. She doesn't think she can last all summer, waiting for a new episode.
