On a more serious note, I'm in the middle of Daniel Levitin's "This is Your Brain on Music," and I've been told he explains earworms. (I also intend to hear him speak at the Library of Congress next week, as part of their excellent series on "Music and the Brain.")
The lecture series has been fascinating so far and, if Levitin speaks anywhere near as well as he writes, I have high expectations.
They have been recording all the lectures and claim they are going to webcast them eventually. I'm on their mailing list and I intend to post a link when the webcasts are up.
So it was YOU! I knew someone was telepathically eavesdropping on me last night while I was reviewing notes and outlines for finishing THE LIGHT THAT WILL NOT FAIL* next. :)
*Novella loosely structured on this line from one of the Gnostic Gospels:
Forgot the quote: Step away from the others/ and I shall tell you the mysteries of the Kingdom./ It is possible for you to reach it/ but you will grieve a great deal.

Each act builds on the theme of a segment of that verse.
The title comes from The Gospel of Truth:
Say, then, from the heart, that you are the perfect day, and in you dwells the light that does not fail.
