-- New icon courtesy of lanning. I just couldn't resist the adorable mousie with his adorable teddy bear.

-- A thought question: Who would steal a bottle of hand lotion, a pair of scissors, and a small bag of chocolate off my desk at work but leave the stuff that's actually worth money?

-- Yesterday on the bus in the morning, I saw a young lady take up four seats all by herself (one for herself, one for her feet, and one each for her two bags).

-- The word is "supposedly," not "supposably." Please make a note of it.

-- When did it become assumed that if *you* bump into *me*, I'm the one expected to apologize?

-- mabfan and I have wonderful friends who are generous with their time and their resources.

-- Knitting while commuting is much more difficult when my fingers are encased in my gloves.

-- A book I originally ordered in September 2007 has *finally* shipped and should arrive today or tomorrow. This makes me happy, as it's a book I've been quite eager to read.

-- There's a radio ad (for some government program) in which I know the voiceover voice, but I just can't place it. It bugs me every time I hear the ad.

O_o That question has bugged me for years! Well, not that exact question but a variation of it. Years ago, my roommate drove her boyfriend to Raleigh for a photo shoot. They left his tripod, worth hundereds of dollars, in her backseat under the leather sport coat he picked up at Goodwill for $10. Someone smashed in her back glass, took the coat, and left the tripod. *shakes head* Humans are confusing creatures.

It makes no sense to me. Yeah, I'm annoyed at having to replace the stuff that got taken (especially the hand cream; that stuff's *expensive*), but still. My computer equipment and all went untouched.

It hadn't yet been published; they kept having "publishing delays" (which could be anything from "the author hasn't turned in the manuscript yet" to "we're dickering over the cover design" to "large monsters ate our equipment and we need to replace it").

A number of folks apparently got random stuff taken. It was all as random as my stuff, from what I've heard.

Then it is, I guess, suppose-able, but I can barely type that without twitching.

My initial thought is some janitor received vague instructions to clean the desks. The scissors might have been moved to an office supply closet. The lotion and chocolate might have been dumped. The expensive looking electronics would have been bypassed because "this decision is above my pay grade".

Alas, due to the other items that were stolen (from other folks' desks), that's highly unlikely.

Also, they left the random scraps of paper on my desk when they took my lotion, scissors, and chocolate.
