Why I Love My Co-Workers
Aug. 21st, 2003 12:55 pmHad the following conversation with a co-worker this morning (at the beginning of a real, work-related discussion):
Co-worker (arriving at my cube): Boo!
gnomi: Eek! A mouse!
{co-worker looks confused}
{gnomi points at her trackball}
Co-worker: A mouse?
{gnomi sighs, opens her desk drawer, shuffles stuff around, pulls out non-functioning mouse still stashed in drawer}
Co-worker: Are we being pedantic? I was going to accept the trackball as "mouse".
{gnomi points to her cube wall where, among other buttons, are "SNOOT: Syntax Nudniks of Our Time" and "Prescriptivist Hardass"}
Co-worker: Ah, so we're being pedantic.
{conversation ensues; pedantry not discussed}

Date: 2003-09-07 05:29 am (UTC)I just want to know where you got the buttons!
I custom ordered them from www.nancybuttons.com. She has other language-related buttons that are part of her standard catalog, though..
