September 19th is Talk Like a Pirate Day.
This reminds me of a friend of mine in college, who was involved in a role-playing game in which his character was a pirate. The character could only speak in "the Pirate Alphabet." So Brian went around saying "Arrr!" "Aye!" and other such letters. He figured out how to ask questions of other characters - after a fashion - by saying "Arrr...yooo?" It got very weird (which was to be expected from Brian) and very amusing.
