PLO Guy is my favorite early archaeologist, solely because of his name. Also, he married one of Ben Yehuda's daughters.

I've seen an Israeli spell the word "guy" like "g-a-y". Totally makes sense from a transliteration perspective.

Guy Steele. I was at a square dance weekend with him (and a bunch of other people) last weekend, and he wore a t-shirt that said "Fun Guy" and had a picture of mushrooms.
