The past few days, as I've been doing stuff in my kitchen, I've had two songs running through my head that I haven't thought of in about 20 years:

-- "I said a-boom-chicka-boom!" (OK, less of a song and more of a chant)
-- "Ain't gonna work on Saturday."

I have no clue why these have popped up in my brain, but there it is.

Indeed! (You were one of the few people I figured who would understand the reference.)

G'mar chatima tovah to you as well!

I feel like I'm in camp :)
Fireman ben and I saw you at Star Market yesterday, but I don't think you saw us in time. As always, he was indignant that the girls weren't with you.

Alas, I did not see you. Both times I was at Star yesterday, I was in something of a rush. And maybe Ben will see the girlies in shul tomorrow.

I thought you were staying home with them (?)
I'm not sure if I'm going. I may not be able to fast, which is a huge PITA.

That was my original plan, to stay home with them. But then [personal profile] mabfan and I were talking about it, and we decided that we want to, for them, play it like a normal Shabbat as much as possible. So we'll go to shul, I'll take them upstairs to play and all, and then we'll take them home around noonish, give them lunch, and put them down for nap. So I'll likely be in shul for a bit but not the whole thing, and I'll most likely end up doing musaf amidah in my living room while girlies nap (I don't figure I'll get any davening done in shul, as odd as that sounds).

I think I have that "boom-chicka-boom" from six or seven different camps in my head; trying to decide what we used it to make fun of at each. NFTY's Kutz camp got particularly cruel - all in good fun, but wow did we get mean, looking back on it.

I don't remember half of what we did with it. It's deep in the back of my memory, which is why I was so surprised it surfaced last week.

Sorry about that. For me, they're associated with Young Judaea, which was one of the major bright spots of my high school years.

I said a broom chicka mop-a chicka mop-a chicka broom? (Janitor style!)
I said a vroom chicka rocket(?) chicka rocket chicka vroom. (Motorcycle style!)

Underwater was always fun. It just doesn't translate to typing ;-)

G'mar chatima tova!

We used to do underwater, too. And all sorts of other permutations, most of which I cannot recall anymore (it's been over 20 years since I did Young Judaea Year Course).

I hope you had an easy fast/spiritually meaningful Yom Kippur.
