I know it's supposed to be the cobbler's bench, but I usually go with mulberry bench or cobbler's bush. I also often declare, "Well, we'll burn that bridge when we get to it."

I have a college friend who used to say "up a tree without a paddle."

I *also* often declare "Well, we'll burn that bridge when we get to it" in lieu of "Well, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it." It causes people to be confused the first time or two they hear me say it. Little do they know I'm often serious....

I have heard it many a time as "cobbler's bench", but I learned it as "mulberry bush".

It's both cobbler's bench and mulberry bush, each one is used in a different verse.

I'm reasonably sure it's mulberry bush--I've never heard cobblers bench. Isn't that from three blind mice?

It has to be Cobbler's Bench because the rest of the words are: Penny for a spool of thread, a penny for a needle, that's the way the money goes, Pop goes the weasel. Makes no sense if a bush is involved.
