#17: Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot and Other Observations by Al Franken - This was Franken's 1996 book, updated slightly for the paperback edition. My politics are somewhat to the right of Franken's (I'm centrist; he's a liberal Democrat), but I still found this to be a fun, engaging book with some real insight in and among the biting satire. Slightly dated, though, as it was written during and after the 1996 election.
#18: The Creative Habit: Learn It and Use It for Life by Twyla Tharp - Tharp, the award-winning choreographer, discusses how to channel creativity and make it a "habit." She discusses the ways one can get in touch with one's creativity and exercises for maintaining it. Using examples from her career, she tells of both successes and failures and what she has learned about creativity from all of her experiences. But the lessons in the book apply not just to those in the field of dance; writers, artists, and actors could learn from her lessons as well.
