Book-seeking behavior (behaviour?)

Calling all Anglophiles (and I know there are some of you out there) - I'm looking for books about British history, specificaly about the history of the British monarchy. Recommend your favorites; I'm looking for any and all suggestions.

Wow! Thanks for all the recommendations. I'm going to have to definitely plan a trip to the library to seek out books.

Depending how quickly you need them (and how we can get them to you), I've got copies of the books by Weir and Starkey I could lend.
And, as I said, there's only one lending copy of King James & the History of Homosexuality in the local library networks, and I've got to return it to the BPL.
