...though I first mentioned it in [personal profile] magid's journal:

MAB has been talking about the "Transit of Venus" for months. And sometimes I hear it as "transitive Venus." Thus, Venus must take a direct object.

Anyone want to suggest direct objects for Venus to take? Would we miss them if she did?

Speaking personally, I started hearing "Transit of Venus" to the tune of "Detachable Penis."

Oh thanks

Now I've got "Transit of Venus" going thru my mind to the tune of the DaVinci's Notebook song "Enormous Penis"

I take a look at the transit of Venus, and everything's going my way..."

Venus is more than welcome to take away certain objects, like this mysterious jar of wheat germ in the pantry that's perfectly good, but who eats wheat germ, anyway? I have no idea where it came from, so I can't say we'll miss it.

We were at my in-laws last night for a sheva brochos, and we started to talk about the transit. My mother-in-law only heard the word "transit," and being a proper New Yorker by now, assumed the next word she had missed would be "strike."

Any idea what a Transit Strike of Venus would consist of?

Any object Venus takes, she's likely to take directly.
And to leave behind, directly afterward.
The question is, would you want them back when she's done with them?

'Take a direct object'? Is that anything like 'taking a lover'? "Venus today has taken swept Libra off its feet...."

Gnomi,

Venus could have the B4 bus. No one would miss it. No one can find it anyway. :)

Ok. How about my old hats...
