More on last night's concert
Jun. 23rd, 2004 10:28 amI mentioned in my post last night that Rocky Paterra, a 12-year-old, sang "Thank Heaven For Little Girls." At the concert, I commented to the rest of our party that I think it's really the only way the song could be performed these days - given the current climate, I can't find people accepting an adult male singing about the joys of young girls.
Or maybe I'm just cynical.
It was cute, however, to hear Rocky sing words I always associate with Maurice Chevalier. Near the end of the song, 5-6 young women (age ~10-12, I think) joined Rocky on stage, posing and vamping as he sang the final verse. It was all very cute, indeed.
