Neat link! I agree that the editing did well. But it's weirdly comforting to know that T.J. had the same spelling hang-up on "independent/ce" that it took me years to overcome. I'll still type "independance" and horrify myself from time to time.

This, actually, I found while looking for a discussion of one of the clauses removed from the Declaration by the Congress (the one that starts "He has waged cruel war"). I didn't find the discussion I was looking for, but I stumbled on this, instead. I thought it a fair trade.
