Needed chair.

Ordered chair.

Told chair would be delivered yesterday via UPS between 9-5.

[personal profile] mabfan waits for chair. And waits. And waits.

5 PM arrives. Chair does not.

5:30-ish, MAB leaves note - please deliver chair to downstairs-neighbor-guy (DNG). Asks DNG to call when chair arrives. MAB leaves to do errands.

6 PM. Still no chair. [personal profile] gnomi calls Staples. Grumbles. Is pleased with responsiveness of customer-service-rep-chick. Is offered and accepts $20 coupon for future use as compensation for delay in chair. Leaves phone number as contact for UPS.

6:59 PM. Call from DNG - voila, chair.

8 PM. Arrive home. Retrieve chair. Put away groceries. Build chair. Yay, chair. :-)

10:15 PM-ish. Sleep. Do not dream of chair.

10:30 AM. Phone call. From Staples, not UPS. This CSR-chick is obnoxious. When asked about possible compensation for lack-of-timely-chairness (after all, this is a "guaranteed delivery" time), snarks that $20 coupon has already been issued.

Feh. And this isn't the first Adventure in Customer Service we've had with Staples. On the upside, however, this time we actually received the merchandise we ordered, on the day we were told it would arrive. And new chair is comfy.

At least the delivery people did not leave your 600 lb package on your doorstep and run. Luckily my husband saw them pulling up. He retrieved the package piece by piece. It was a hoime gym.
