Jul. 24th, 2002 10:46 amMore randomness, I guess:
-- William Pierce, Neo-Nazi and author of _The Turner Diaries_, died yesterday. I know I feel happy that there's one less person in this world inciting others to hate. But I always feel weird when I'm happy at the death of another person. Maybe I'm just odd.
-- Today's "Get Fuzzy" comic strip is wonderful. Read it and you'll get a glimpse of my sense of humor. If it doesn't run in your paper, find it at www.comics.com. It appealed to me on many levels: humorous punny names for stuffed animals, linguistics-based humor, obscure-reference humor (OK, so Chomsky's not that obscure, but he's obscure enough).
-- "Entertainment Weekly" and others are reporting that Rob Lowe is leaving "The West Wing." Not quite sure how I feel about that - he plays a wonderful character who is integral to many parts of the overall story Sorkin is telling. And I wonder whether it's really a done deal or if it's Lowe's way of trying to get more money out of NBC and Warner Bros. Yeah, I'm cynical about things like that
