Home again, home again
Jan. 3rd, 2005 09:32 amGot home last night. Was very, very glad to have dinner already made and in fridge and just needing heating up (mushroom stroganoff; it refrigerates very well, despite the recipe saying "serve immediately"). Now back to work and all.
The trip was lovely. We saw lots of fun people, even the ones we did just a drive-by quick visit with. And we went on two Big Onion walking tours (the Immigrants tour and the official "Gangs of New York" tour), which are always fun. We saw people we'd planned to see and even one or two that we hadn't expected to see. We experienced Broadway ticket lotteries twice (didn't get chosen either time, alas) and met new people while in line for the first one. We introduced friends of ours to other friends of ours. We discovered a wonderful Kosher Moroccan restaurant, went to many bookstores, discovered Starbuckses all over the city, experienced a low temperature of about 17 and a high of about 60, all in the same week (Monday and Saturday, respectively), and visited the newly reopened FAO Schwarz (which is very fun). We saw family, old friends, and new friends. And we laughed a lot. Which is always important, right?
But now we're back, and I'm readjusting to a normal sleep schedule. Happy new year, all!
