So, [personal profile] farwing and I were talking about songs that mention the days of the week, and while we could come up with some, we couldn't come up for ones for all the days of the week. So, I turn to you folk. Can you name songs that (either in the title or the lyrics) mention days of the week? Any and all suggestions appreciated.

ETA: (for my own records, mostly) The Clash -- Police on my Back. Mentions all the days of the week.

Oh, I had plans to do this, one for every day of the week, to make an alarm clock mix. Let me see if I can remember. Warning: dorkiness ensues.

"Monday, Monday" by the Mamas and the Papas, or
"I Don't Like Mondays" by the Boomtown Rats
"Groovy Tuesday" by the Smithereens or
"Love You Till Tuesday" (an early Bowie tune)
"Wednesday Morning, 3 AM" by Simon & Garfunkel or
"She's Leaving Home" by the Beatles
"Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (for the lyrics "Will you come see me/Thursdays and Saturdays?")
"Friday On My Mind" -- Bowie cover version
I didn't bother with Saturday or Sunday, not needing an alarm on those days, but I'm sure you can think of good titles. "Saturday in the Park" is Chicago, right? And there's "Sunday Bloody Sunday" by U2.

Ditto, plus "Never on a Sunday" (can't recall artist name without cheating on Google)

"Monday, Monday" -- The Mamas and the Papas (also "Manic Monday" by the Bangles)

"Ruby Tuesday" -- Rolling Stones

"Wednesday Morning, 3 AM" -- Simon & Garfunkel

There is a band called Thursday; see: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/artist/glance/-/231390/ref=m_art_dp/002-2574016-6258434

"Friday" -- Phish: http://phish-lyrics.wonderlyrics.com/Friday.html

"Dock of the Bay" lyrics, Otis Redding "Saturday, in the park, I think it was the Fourth of July"

Um, can you tell I'm on vacation? ;-)

The Cure & their song "Friday I'm in Love" -- lyrics include:

I don't care if Monday's blue
Tuesday's grey and Wednesday too
Thursday I don't care about you
It's Friday I'm in love

Monday you can fall apart
Tuesday Wednesday break my heart
Thursday doesn't even start
It's Friday I'm in love

Saturday wait
And Sunday always comes too late
But Friday never hesitate...

I assume you're not counting songs like Yom Rishon—Avodah, versions of Echad Mi Yodea that list all the days in the 7th verse, or rhymes like Monday's Child.

Of course there's a host of Shabbos songs that mention Friday and/or Shabbos.

I Abra Cinii's Alternate Side has a line about "signs that say Mon-Thurs, or Tuesday and Fri".

Cat Faber's Brown Gal refers to Sunday.

If I think of any more I'll post them.

Surprised no one's mentioned Counting Crows; they have scads of songs that mention days of the week:

Sunday: "Omaha" ("Omaha / it's Sunday morning / I'm coming home today"); "Kid Things" ("She said, 'No, no, no, you can't get any lovin' it's a Sunday'"); "Hard Candy" ("On certain Sundays in November / When the weather bothers me / I empty drawers of other summers / where my shadows used to be")
Monday: "All My Love (Richard Manuel is Dead)" ("Take some time before you go / to think of Mondays coming down")
Tuesday: "Perfect Blue Buildings" ("It's 4:30 a.m. on a Tuesday / it doesn't get much worse than this")
Friday: "American Girls" ("I waited for an hour last Friday night / she never came around")

For Sunday, there's also "Summertime Blues."

Everyone's already done all the songs I could think of.

I recommend, by the way, doing a search on iTunes for each of the days of the week, if you aren't satisfied with the (large) list you have here.
