Really, I shoudl be asleep right now...

...but instead I'm pondering icons. I have decided that I need icons for the following:

-- Language geek (not that I don't use and love my Prescriptivist Hardass one, but not all of my Language Geek posts are PH-type posts)
-- Something knitting related
-- Something celebration-y (I'm thinking something fireworks-y, but that's just one possibility)

Do any of you have good sources of icons that you tend to like? LJ has tons of icon-related communities, but I'm convinced I don't have the patience to dig through them all.

I very rarely gack icons. I prefer to make them myself. If you can come up with the right concepts, why not be creative and make them yourself?

I don't have appropriate icon-making software for anything more complicated than scaling down a photo and possibly adding text. So I've been looking for base photos and stuff and not hitting anything I like.

Alas. I shall keep searching.
