This week, I finished learning Masechet Pe'ah in memory ofsdelmonte's uncle (whose shloshim is approaching). I'd never learned Pe'ah before, and I was suprised to find how much practical-even-today there is in it, given that it mostly concerns one's harvest and what one has to leave behind for the poor. But there's a lot there, also, about caring for one's fellow man as well as, if you are the poor person in question, only taking what you are allotted (and not pretending to be poor in order to get the community's charity).
I was honored to be part of the effort to learn all of shas in SDelmonte's uncle's memory, and I appreciated the opportunity to learn a part of the Mishna I'd never learned before.
