This shouldn't surprise me anymore...
Dec. 28th, 2004 11:08 pm...since it seems to happen regularly, but...
Tonight,
mabfan and I were out at dinner with
lisafeld. At some point while we were eating, a couple of people were seated at the table behind ours. One of them looked remarkably familiar -- she was, I was almost convinced, someone I had gone to college with (well, she had been a freshman when I was a senior, but we were both active in Hillel, so we knew each other relatively well). After a minute or so, I recalled her first name, and
mabfan was able to come up with her last name. And then he (because I was too shy to do so) went over to the table to ask if the woman was, in fact, the person I remembered. And she was. So we exchanged contact info, much to the amusement/bemusement of her companion.
So, I guess that in order to run into a person from Chicago with whom I went to school in Boston, I need to go to New York. :-)
