Help me, oh friends list!
Nov. 2nd, 2006 10:57 amSo, OK. I? Will never qualify as a girly-girl. I was a serious tomboy as a kid, and I still am. And I'm fine with this, honest and true. However, occasionally my lack of girly-girl-ness ends up being a problem. And thus I appeal to you all, who may have suggestions.
Here's the deal. I have Very Long Hair, which I cover, usually in a hat or a beret or somesuch. But I have hats for shul (synagogue) that I bought before my hair was nearly this long, and while my hair is compressable, it is now at the point that I cannot smush it all up under my shul hats. So, about 6 years or so ago, I bought a couple of barrettes with snoods attached, and the hair that won't fit into the hat gets put in the snood. No problem. But -- problem! It's now six years later, and the barrettes and snoods are definitely showing their age. So I sought to replace them... and struck out.
Now I appeal to you. Do any of you know of a source of barrettes-with-snoods (either a store in the Boston area or an online source)? Or a link to a pattern (sewing or knitting) that I could use to make snoods-on-barrettes?
Thanks so much in advance!
