Based on the Christopher Buckley book Thank You for Smoking, the movie stars Aaron Eckhart as Nick Naylor, a lobbyist for the tobacco industry. The IMDb says:

Satirical comedy follows the machinations of Big Tobacco's chief spokesman, Nick Naylor, who spins on behalf of cigarettes while trying to remain a role model for his twelve-year-old son.

It's got a great cast, including William H. Macy, J.K. Simmons, and Robert Duval. Adam Brody and Rob Lowe's characters are hysterically bizarre. Cameron Bright plays Joey Naylor, Nick's son, and shows that he can act (which I didn't get as much from his turn as Orlin in Stargate SG-1 earlier this past season).

It opened in limited release (LA, New York, and Washington, DC) on 17 March and will open in 7 additional cities this weekend.

I have seen commercials for this in my area (we're considered an outlying bedroom suburb of Philadelphia - a fact which boggles me as Philly is a good 90 miles from where I am sitting right now) and I want to see it - it looks sharp edged and hilarious.

I adored the book, so I'm looking forward to a chance to see the movie.

It was really good. I caught it in New York. The book is one of my favorites and I was not terribly disappointed, which is rare for me.
