My company has a group that is in charge of process management for the development of our software. The group is called SQPM, for Softwware Quality Process Management.

Being the history fan I am, and being more than vaguely goofy, I keep thinking it should be SPQR, thus controlling the quality of the software of the Roman Empire.

"SPQR is a computer strategy game set in the period of the Roman empire. It is written with python, using the pygame library: although being written on GNU/Linux, it should be easy to run on other operating systems...."

Software? The Romans did everything in vastly over-engineered hardware, somewhat like today's telephone companies.

Note that although the Roman empire fell, it influenced the course of civilization — for good and evil — ever since. I'm still waiting for AT&T to finally collapse; I guess Pure Evil is more hardy.
