a plea for help - movie-related

a friend of ours is an english teacher, and she's interested in showing the 1993 movie version of much ado about nothing to her class. unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be available for rent or for purchase anywhere in our metro area. so, here's the p lea. if anyone out there happened to tape it when it was broadcast on one of the cable movie channels, and would be willing to make us a copy, i'd greatly appreciate it. i'll happily pay for the cost of the vhs tape and for the shipping and all.

Of course, I have to rise to such a challenge!

The Minuteman Library Network is your friend's friend on this occasion. A quick check shows that a number of the libraries have copies that are neither checked out nor missing! I don't know which would be more convenient, so the site is http://web2.mln.lib.ma.us/ Choose any library and limit the search by material to Videos only so you don't get overwhelmed by the results.

(Heh, I decided that it was too cold to go out and do something similar this evening!)

i guess she looked into borrowing it but none of the libraries she checked either had it or were willing to loan it to her for as long as she needs it - apparently, a couple of months or so. but thanks so much for the suggestion. as for me, i'm just fulfilling my role as research-girl - mab says 'do you know where to find [x]' and i go looking for [x]. ;-]

And if that doesn't work and she's willing to wait a couple of weeks, I can send her the movie without copying the danged thing. Just need to finish with it for the semester first.

That's right; I could just let the person borrow my tape. Why didn't I think of that? It's not like I'm watching it or anything. Thank you for the idea, Beth! I'm copying it now, so I'll let you know if you'll need to return the tape to me or not in the morning, Nomi, and get it to you tomorrow, too.
