Grrrrr! (a rant in three parts)

Part the First

Dear office folk,

If your office opens at 7 AM, there should be someone there at 7 AM. The fact that no one showed up until 7:30 is inexcusable, and the answer "Oh, this never happens" doesn't hold water when this happened last week as well.

Part the Second

Dear power plant behind my office building,

Please stop venting steam so loudly. Even with my music cranked up I can hear you. You somehow manage to produce power 90% of the time without this much noise.

Part the Third

Dear computer and trackball,

Please explain why you started freaking out in a particularly annoying way late last week that powering all the way down over the weekend and restarting this morning has not solved. I don't like it when you mess with my head this way.

At least this time the building didn't shake. (At least, ours didn't. Last year we thought it was an earthquake at first.)

Ours didn't shake, either. And I was half expecting the power to go out, since I seem to recall large-quantity, loud venting right before that blackout a couple of summers back. But we've got power, and the sound stopped not long after I posted this grrr.
